Singing with the Chimps

Singing with the Chimps

The chimps love music and I love to sing so when working by myself I never hesitate to belt out whatever songs are stuck in my head. Yesterday I happened to have the soundtrack from Disney’s new movie “Frozen” stuck in my head and spent the entire afternoon singing to the chimps as I went about the day’s tasks. Thiele is always the most complimentary of my singing and often will come sit beside me, staring intently at my mouth as though wondering how the radio could possibly be coming out of her caregiver. Last night she flattered me by grunting and gesturing at me “to continue” when I stopped singing and then settled down again as soon as I struck up a new tune. Herbie bobbed his head, probably coincidentally, but I’m going to say it was because he enjoyed the song as well. Even Emma followed me around through the aerial tunnels as I sang, sitting down beside Thiele who was still sitting contentedly near me. It wasn’t until the evening, after singing and running around all afternoon, that Patti finally let out a bark that seemed to say, “ok, that’s enough Disney for today, thank you very much!” I guess everyone has a limit!
