Eileen McLellan

Board of Directors

Eileen McLellan’s life’s work has been in the food industry having experience in agriculture, research and development, processing, quality control, as well as the culinary arts.  She received her B.S. in Food Science and Technology from Oregon State University, M.S. in Food Science from the University of California at Davis and MBA from Concordia University.

As a food scientist working in research and development for Nestlé, Eileen was able to travel and experience the diversity of other cultures.  To balance out the intense love of the science of food, she attended culinary school learning about the creative and artistic side of the food industry.  Consequently, Eileen chaired a $3 million capital campaign to construct a state of the art culinary facility at Central Oregon Community College contributing to the creation of a sustainable food industry in Oregon.  She is currently President of Zella Foods, a hazelnut processing business she started in 2010.

In addition to her dedication to Chimps Inc., Eileen is also a volunteer and board member for the American Heart Association, Cascade Festival of Music, Central Oregon Community College Foundation, and Oregon Public Broadcasting.

Eileen is married to Dr. Bruce McLellan, a cardiologist at the St. Charles Heart and Lung Center.  They have lived in Central Oregon for 26 years.
