Goodbye and Good Luck, Allie!

Goodbye and Good Luck, Allie!

Very recently the whole team here at Chimps Inc. has had to say goodbye to Senior Caregiver Allie Morgan as she takes the next step in her career and heads to Nigeria for a year-long volunteer experience at a primate sanctuary. As is the case with many goodbyes, it’s one which saddens me but fills me with excitement and pride. I met Allie when I came to the sanctuary in March of this year as an intern. As the Intern and Volunteer Coordinator, Allie was the first official contact I had with the sanctuary, and she significantly impacted my experience. Working with Allie was a daily inspiration. Her dedication to the chimps shined in every thing she did. There was no object too heavy, no task too daunting, no tunnel too high or enclosure too dirty. Allie took it on with a smile and a work ethic like no other. And now, her brave decision to travel to Nigeria to continue her important work with chimps, gorillas, drills and other primates hasn’t failed to inspire. She is one of the most incredible women I’ve ever met, and I can’t wait to see the impact she’s going to make on the sanctuary she’s committed herself to for the next year. Good luck, Allie! We miss you already!
