Carla McGinley

Carla (Young) McGinley was born in Redmond, Oregon and grew up on a dairy farm there.  She was a member of a horse 4-H club and participated in horse shows through high school.  During that same time she began rodeoing in the Western States Junior Rodeo Association and participated in sanctioned rodeo’s throughout the Northwest.  Carla is also a past Deschutes County Fair Queen.  Carla team roped for many years thereafter and then continued to attend rodeos with her children when they were old enough to participate.  Carla is married to husband Dan and has 3 children, Angie, Brandon, Jerrica and one step-daughter Mariah.  They have 8 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren.

Carla began her career in Human Resources in 1979.  Carla has worked for Hooker Creek Companies for the past 17 years with her first few years there being HR director, Payroll Administrator, and Safety Director.  As the company grew and became much more busy, her position(s) were split and Carla’s only position now at Hooker Creek is HR Director.

Carla and Dan enjoy the local lakes for camping, water sports and fishing.  Shasta Lake is one of their favorite “out of the area” lakes to visit (when it has water), along with enjoying other activities like attending country concerts and meeting up with family at different “family time” places/events/functions.  They also spend time enjoying the beach and all activities relating to while visiting San Jose del Cabo, MX.  They purchased a condo there several years ago in preparation for warm weather during their retirement years at which time they plan to live there 6 months out of each year.

Carla brings a wealth of knowledge to our Advisory Board and we are very fortunate to have her in our Chimps Inc. family.
